![]() Interestingly, I made ‘The Trade’ just over a year ago and a lot of what Lon Stroschein talks about is what I was living for a while and into 2022.Īt the top of my game, being the top sales exec during my tenure at the company, and earning more money that I ever thought was possible-as a young buck from a farm town in rural Chicagoland-I just had enough.įast forward a year after I left and I’ve never been happier with everything in my life. If you’re in ‘mid-life’ and approaching a ‘crisis’ or just tired of the daily grind of your current gig, the book ‘The Trade’ is for you. Stay the course with executive A because you know you will win and then, go forth and do. Don’t take executive B or C because they want to go or they insist in talking with the CXO/your client’s executive. So what, you aren’t paid to make friends or pacify ‘family’ members who won’t help you move your deal to closure.Īlso, you know in your gut (always trust your gut) who executive A is on your team so use them with impunity when it’s time to close business. ![]() ![]() Always go with executive A who you know will help make that deal happen.ĭoes it sometimes hurt the feelings of executives B & C? Yep. ![]() The tip in my rant here is that when you’re going into a meeting to close a deal, do not take executive B or C because they’re available. Truth be told, this happened before a few years ago and because I was out of town, it cost us $250 for a plumber to do it. (See below again) 5 minutes later, it was unclogged. In a nutshell, after I got home I too tried to unclog it and after an hour, I went to Home Depot to rent an industrial sized model for $50. While off on an outdoor adventure last weekend, the Fox texted that our kitchen sink was clogged and bless her heart she attempted to fix it herself with the lil drain auger attached to my dewalt cordless drill. Sometimes you just gotta have the right tool for the job. Join me in bringing light to the darkness of cancer by donating towards my fundraising efforts in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Light The Night. Thank you for reading and if you do, thank you for donating! Regardless of the weather, there will be two people who will walk like a woman and man possessed for this great cause. Fingers crossed it doesn’t rain or dare I say-snow-as it has in mid-October before and we have decent weather for the walk. So if the spirit moves you, click the link below and make a donation. I rarely make post like this but I am this time because the majority of your donation goes right to research and to families who need help with treatment for their loved one. If you buy a Starbucks coffee at $5/day, next week make your coffee at home and donate $25 to LLS. This event is for LLS and while this is my first time participating in the event, we’ve been giving to LLS each year because those two shitty diseases have impacted our family, specifically my Dad. In a few weekends, my bride (the Fox) and I will be walking for a good cause at ‘Light the Night’ in the city of Chicago. Thursday thought: If you feel compelled, give.
